Painted Pamphlets
Painted Pamphlets is a reworked project that was once a body of work called Bulletin Boards. Bulletin Boards is a typology created in 2016 where it documented various bulletin boards around the community like libraries, grocery stores, restaurants, TTC shelters and school buildings. Bulletin boards were a place for announcements around the neighborhood, job postings, or objects that were up for sale, but with the online presence of websites like Craigslist or Kijiji for resale items, Indeed for job postings, and social media for announcements, the need for bulletin boards are becoming sparse. In Painted Pamphlets, paint was applied directly onto the inkjet prints of Bulletin Boards and scanned in. It makes the documented bulletin boards unrecognizable and replaces the image with fluid shapes.
