Explore Mars: 360 video
Explore Mars is an immersed journey from earth to Mars. With 360° virtual reality, destin on Mars and examine the views and terrain; start at our research facility and end on our red neighbour planet. Uploaded on the YouTube platform and viewed with Google Cardboard features, Explore Mars was illustrated on Adobe Illustrator, animated in after effects and edited on Premiere. Explore Mars was two dimensionally illustrated, exported as a two dimensional video, and then converted to a 360° VR video. Explore Mars is about the user immersed experience and presented like a travel promo video. YouTube and Facebook are the only sharable platforms that support 360° videos. Embedding videos from YouTube is more diverse and supported by other websites when Facebook is just getting started in the video platforms and only can be shared within Facebook. The background music is Full Sweep by a band called Absolutely Free. I have received full permission to use their music to this animation. The animation is also accompanied with archival audio bites from NASA.
